ELEUK 2022 Annual Conference

We are pleased to announce that the Annual Conference ELEUK 2022 will take place at The University of Warwick.
The British Association for the Teaching of Spanish in Higher Education (ELEUK), constituted in 2014, is an organisation of teachers of Spanish in Higher and Further Education institutions in the UK.
The ELEUK annual conference seeks to be a platform for colleagues specialised in Spanish language teaching to meet and share their expertise and experience in the field.
ELEUK wishes to thank Instituto Cervantes London for their generous support to this event.
ELEUK Conference aims to:
- Promote the teaching and learning of Spanish in Higher and Adult Education in Great Britain
- Foster research in the teaching and learning of Spanish, enhance teacher training in Spanish
- Facilitate contact between delegates from all parts of the UK in order to support professional development and subject expertise.
Confirmed plenary speakers:
- Stephen Krashen, University of Southern California (Los Angeles): Fundamentals of Language Acquisition & The Language Acquisition Device (LAD) never shuts off: four hypotheses (the conference will be delivered online and it will be available for the face-to-face participants to the Encuentro ELEUK2022).
- Reyes Llopis-García, Columbia University (New York): Lingüística Cognitiva Aplicada: fundamentos teóricos e investigación empírica en ELE.
- David Block, Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona): Identity in the 20th century, identity in the 21st century and learning Spanish as L2.

Useful information
How to get
The University of Warwick is in the city of Coventry, not Warwick. You can reach it by train to Coventry station, or at the Canley or Tile Hill halts.
As you exit Coventry Station, on your left, you will find the buses to the campus: the 12X which takes 15 minutes and the 11 which takes around 25 minutes. You will find the schedules here: 12X Coventry – University of Warwick FAST | NX Bus Coventry and 11 Coventry – Leamington Spa | NX Bus Coventry. Or you can take a taxi from the station to the campus, for a cost of approximately £15
The stop where you should get off is Warwick Interchange, which is the central bus stop on campus, which leads to the Warwick Arts Centre and the university’s central square.
On the bus you can pay with your credit/debit card or in cash, although change is not returned.
The ELEUK conference will take place in the Faculty of Arts Building, just a couple of minutes walk from the bus stop. The building is very easy to recognize, it is a new red building. Here you will find an interactive map of the campus.
Dinner on Thursday 16th June

Accommodation
You can stay on campus or in the city centre. Our suggestions are the Telegraph Hotel (where Thursday dinner is held); Village Hotel Coventry ; Ramada Hotel, Coventry ; Ibis Coventry Centre.
